Edukick England A V Fire Service

The A squad today had a game against the Fire services, and cruised to a 7 - 1 victory over them. With two goals from Alejandro, Two from substitute Cyrille, but a fantastic strike from shoki, the lads never looked like taking the foot off the gas.

some great individual performances were shown, meni played fantastic as captain, with naz putting in a tremendous performance for his second game in two days. Cyrille came off the bench to get two great goals and possibly confirm his starting place in the next fixture, but all in all a great start to the 2010 term.

Well done lads!

Meni Leads out the A squad

In the first game for the new A squad, new player Meni, from his hard work, commitment and team spirit in these first few weeks, has received the captains armband to lead the boys out.

A great achievement for a player, one of the youngest here and to only have just joined, to have that recognised by the coaches and be respected by the team too.

Well done Meni!

Edukick England B V St Monica's College

The B squad took on local college side St. Monica's, in the first game back after the xmas break. Unfortunately the result didn't show how the performance was, with the lads going down 4 - 1, however the game did produce some promising points and some very good individual performances.

Firstly the game gave some of the new lads a chance to get into the speed of the English game, Jonathan, Riccardo, Connor, nabil & Shmagi all got a taste of what it is like to play in the UK.

Great performances were shown by Nazar, William, Connor and Haeden, who were all subsequently included in the squad for the A teams fixture against the fire service.

Ebrahim Askari also showed how much he has come on in his time here in Bolton, looking lively and getting himself into some great scoring positions.

Nazar came out with the Man of the match award.

lots to build on, but some great positives from the first fixture for the B squad.

Haeden Gets the Captains Armband

Haeden Turner was reward for his hard work over the past few months by being the first to Captain the B squad in the forthcoming game against St Monica's college, from Manchester. Haeden is a true professional and works hard every day to achieve his potential, from his early morning gym session, the days activities on the course, to extra work after training and classes. And always with a smile on his face.

Well Done Haeden!

10 Pin Bowling Evening

Now all have arrived back after the Christmas break, with new players joining us, James and Craig took the lads for an evening of 10 pin bowling at the local complex. the social evening meant all the lads to mix together out of the classroom and off the pitch, and get to know the new lads more.

the team are now building into a great group of young men, and long may that continue!

Watching the Game in Style

4 of the lads who have returned for a second year at Bolton were rewarded for their commitment to the course and the desire to come back with corporate hospitality at Saturdays FA cup, 4th Round fixture against Sheffield United.

Ebrahim, Cyrille, Nazar and Jon were all invited to the game as guests of Bolton Wanderers and Edukick and received a meal in the lion of Vienna suite prior, some of the best seats in the stadium to view the game, and half time refreshments in the suite.

Term Two - A cold welcome back

Everyone is back now and ready for the challenge of term two here in Bolton, and what a cold welcome back the got, not from the staff and host families you understand - as every it was a great warm welcome, but the fantastic UK weather showed the lads what it can do, with temperatures dropping to well below zero. Quite a shock for some of the lads returning after a Christmas on the beach down under!

The cold weather hasn't stopped as fast paced start to the term, James and Craig have had the boys working out in the gym and fitness sessions on the tennis courts, to work off the excess food eaten over the festive break.

With the snow still lying on the ground, on the Friday of week one, some the lads braved the cold conditions, took to the pitches with shovels and helped the arena to clear the first pitch so they could get out and play.

Now the snow has gone, it back to work and preparing for the first games next week.

With 24 players now, two squads and a high level of competition for spaces, this term looks to be the most exciting and energetic ever in Bolton. The A squad Kick off the year a week tomorrow with a game against Manchester Fire and rescue!

October 2009

Arsen Khyrkhryan

November 2009

December 2009

During the second term this will continues to be awarded to those players that deserve the recognition, so it's all to play for!

Well done to these lads, keep it up!

Term One - Done!

It's been a great term one here in Bolton and well done to all the lads who have worked very hard throughout the term. A long hard term from September with many ups and downs, but everyone made it!

We have had several games, not all results went our way, however we have seen some fantastic progressions along the way with different players shining out each month. Results picked up towards the end of the term and bringing the year to a close was a 4 - 1 victory over a visiting french team. Well Done.

Lets now look forward to the new term, with much more exciting developments and more and more players attending, it's set to be a good one!

A big thanks to Ashley Woodhouse, Ash was our goalkeeper from Last season, and as we don't have a goalkeeper signed up as yet, he's been returning each game to help out, taking time off from his training with Stockport county where he is progressing well - find out more about that later this term!
